Welcome to Cruse Bereavement Care Bristol and District Area.

Important Announcement : 23rd April 2018 (Updated 12th June 2018)

As many people know, we have been providing support for bereaved people from our base 9a St James Barton for 15 years.

Unfortunately, our landlords are unable to renew our lease as they require the space for other purposes, and we have to vacate the premises by 22nd August.

We are sad to leave St James Barton, as this central location is very convenient for clients, particularly those using public transport.

We are now urgently looking for affordable, alternative accommodation, with good disabled access. We  welcome any help or assistance with this search.

Regrettably, as we don’t know how long this will take and where our new premises will be, we are temporarily suspending some Bristol-based services until we have relocated to new premises.

Our waiting list for face-to-face support in Bristol is now closed. We cannot support any new clients at present. However, we run fortnightly Drop-In sessions on Thursday mornings between 10 – 12pm. These are supportive and friendly and they help reduce the sense of isolation that can follow bereavement. A team of trained bereavement support volunteers are available at these sessions and which will run until Thursday 12th July.

However, anyone living in North Somerset can still obtain our wider range of support services which are delivered by our teams in Portishead, Clevedon and Weston Super Mare.

Additional help is available from other organisations listed under “Information & Resources”

As soon as we have further news we will share this via this website and other channels. Please bear with us.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of our charity.

We provide care and support for bereaved children, young people and adults in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

Most people, at some point in their lives, will be faced with the death of someone they love or care deeply about. When someone you love dies it can feel as though a part of you has also died. You don’t have to deal with your grief, feelings and circumstances on your own. We are here to help.

Please explore our website. You will find lots of useful information and advice for bereaved people and those around them including family, friends and carers, employers and service providers. You will also find information about how you can help our charity as a volunteer, by raising money for our projects and services and helping in other ways.

If you need help please phone 0117 926 4045 or email us at bristol@cruse.org.uk Our phone lines are often busy. If you cannot get through please leave a message with your name and number and we will get back to you as quickly as possible .

If you urgently need to talk to someone outside of office hours please call our national helpline – 0808 808 1677
