About Bereavement & Grief

For most of us, bereavement will be the most distressing experience we will ever face.

Grief is what we feel when someone that we love, someone important or special to us, dies.

Every person experiences grief differently. There is no ‘normal’ or ‘right’ way to grieve.

Our downloadable booklet Restoring Hope provides information about how people may feel following a bereavement. This includes information on:

  • How to take care of yourself
  • Helping other people
  • Looking to the future
  • Helping bereaved children and young people

Grief is a natural process. Most people will cope with help and support from family and friends. For those who need additional specialist help, we offer free confidential support for adults and children. Help can be provided by telephone, email or face-to-face.
