We endeavour to empower bereaved people and wherever appropriate our aim is to promote “self-help” and improve people’s resileince.

We provide various publications,  such as “Restoring Hope”, one of several resources produced by Cruse Bereavement Care.

We can also, occasionally obtain and provide booklets, such as “What to do when someone dies” from the Bereavement Advice Centre and from other relevant organisations and agencies whose remit involves helping bereaved people.

The Green House   Provides one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy to children, young people and adults who have been sexually abused or assaulted as either children or adults 0117 935 1707

SARSAS | Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Support : Specialist time-limited counselling and group work for women and girls aged 13+ in venues in Somerset & former Avon. Bristol residents and men and boys are referred to The Green House and Southmead Touchstone for counselling service. Sarsas also offer a free helpline service for women and girls and men and boys. Kinergy   A free and confidential service offering 1-to-1 counselling for up to 48 weeks and group therapy for up to 20 weeks to survivors of sexual violence and abuse 0117 908 7712

Mindline  Emotional support listening service for anyone who needs to talk. Offers a friendly ear, without trying to advise or tell you what to do next. Calls can last up to 30 minutes per evening and are taken by volunteers trained in telephone counselling skills. Open Wed-Sun nights, 8pm-midnight 0808 808 0330

Group Analytical Psychotherapy  –  Is affordable, accessible and aims to empower individuals to improve relationships and communication skills –  may be useful to those moving on from one-to-one counselling
